What is a smile makeover, really?
A smile makeover is a comprehensive aesthetic dentistry plan that transforms your entire smile addressing colour, shape, alignment, length, gum line and bite together rather than fixing individual issues piecemeal.
“Smile makeover” and “Hollywood smile” describe the same thing a complete aesthetic transformation of the visible smile zone, typically combining veneers, crowns, and professional whitening into a single integrated treatment plan. The patient isn’t choosing one treatment; they’re choosing a finished look.
The reason it works as a package rather than as separate treatments is that the elements interact aesthetically. The shade of your veneers needs to coordinate with your crowns and your remaining natural teeth. The shape of your front teeth needs to match the proportions of your face. The alignment, the smile line curve, the gum visibility when you laugh all of it has to be designed together.

What's the difference between a smile makeover and just getting veneers?
A smile makeover is a complete aesthetic plan — typically combining veneers, crowns where needed, professional whitening, and bite analysis into one integrated treatment. Just getting veneers means installing veneers without considering the rest of your smile (other teeth, bite, gum line). For most patients wanting a complete transformation, the smile makeover approach delivers a much better integrated outcome — every element designed to work together.
How many veneers do I actually need?
It depends on your visible smile zone. Typical guidance: 8 veneers covers the upper smile line for a focused improvement. 16 veneers covers both upper and lower smile zones for a full Hollywood smile. 20 veneers covers the most extensive smile makeover including premolars. We never push more than your case actually needs — if 8 will do for your goals, we’ll quote you 8.
Is the £3,800 Hollywood Smile genuinely all-inclusive?
Yes — fixed in writing before you commit. The package covers: 16 E.max® veneers, Digital Smile Design with full mock-up, bite analysis, 4-star hotel for 7 nights, VIP transfers, custom night guard if required, all medications, professional polishing, UK aftercare in Glasgow / Surrey / Croydon, and a 10-year warranty. The only way the price changes is if a clinical issue not visible on your initial photos is discovered — and never without your written agreement first.
How long do smile makeover veneers last?
Properly placed E.max® porcelain veneers are designed to last 15+ years. Long-term studies show survival rates above 95% at 10 years. Many of our patients are still wearing the same veneers we placed in 2010 and 2011 — going on 15+ years and counting. We provide a 10-year warranty on all veneers, with free replacement if a veneer chips or debonds within warranty.
Can I have a smile makeover if my teeth are crooked?
Often yes — though it depends on how crooked. Mild to moderate crowding can be visually corrected with veneers by reshaping how the veneers sit. Severe alignment issues are better addressed with orthodontics first. Important: at Dentarma we don’t offer orthodontics, so if your case truly needs braces or aligners, we’ll honestly tell you and recommend you address that first before considering veneers. What if I don't like the result?
This is exactly why we use Digital Smile Design with a physical mock-up before any preparation. You see the design in 3D, then we bond a temporary mock-up onto your teeth so you can see and feel it in your real mouth. If you don’t like it, we redesign — and the preparation never starts until you confirm. This protects you from the most common cosmetic dentistry regret.
How much enamel do you remove?
For E.max® veneers: typically 0.3–0.7mm of enamel from the front surface only. For crowns (used only when teeth are damaged): 1.5–2mm. The tooth structure underneath remains alive and healthy. This is the critical difference from “Turkey teeth” crown work, which removes 1.5–2mm of tooth structure on healthy teeth and grinds them down to stumps unnecessarily.
Can I have smile whitening at the same time?
Whitening is included in every smile makeover package for any natural teeth that won’t be covered by veneers — typically the lower back teeth. This ensures the entire visible smile shade matches harmoniously. Whitening only happens on natural teeth — porcelain veneers don’t whiten, which is why we choose your veneer shade carefully during smile design.
Are smile makeovers in Turkey the same quality as the UK?
When the materials are the same brand (Ivoclar IPS e.max®, premium German zirconia), placed by a qualified prosthodontist, in a properly equipped clinic — yes, identically. The veneer in your mouth is the same physical product available to a top London Harley Street clinic. The price difference reflects clinic operating costs in Antalya — clinic rent, staff salaries, taxation — not material or clinical quality. UK private smile makeover costs are typically 3–4× higher than Antalya for the same procedure.
How do I clean and care for my smile makeover?
Exactly like natural teeth — twice-daily brushing with a soft-bristled brush and non-abrasive toothpaste, daily flossing, and routine professional cleaning. No special tools or maintenance routine required. Avoid abrasive whitening toothpastes which can dull the polished finish over time. Annual UK aftercare appointments include professional polishing to restore lustre.
